Where Fashion Meets Art: Discover Sac et Sol by Mieke Dierckx and Emma Veulemans

What happens when fashion and fine art enter the same room? Sac et Sol offered exactly that.

This exclusive collaboration between Mieke Dierckx and Belgian artist Emma Veulemans brought together contemporary art, thoughtful design and a shared appreciation for creating pieces with meaning. The result was a limited collection that blurred the line between what we carry and what we display.

Seven hand painted bags, each with its own story

For Sac et Sol, Emma Veulemans transformed seven Mieke Dierckx bags into one of a kind pieces through her distinctive artistic approach. No design was repeated. Each bag existed only once.

To make these creations even more special, every bag was accompanied by the original artwork drawn by Emma herself. More than an accessory, these pieces became personal collectors' items that combined art and everyday life.

One artwork. Seven editions.

The collaboration did not stop at the bags. Emma Veulemans and Mieke Dierckx also created an exclusive artwork edition, bringing together art, texture and design in a completely new way.

Using leftover leather from the Mieke Dierckx atelier in Portugal, they developed a single design that will only ever be produced in seven editions. While the overall composition remains the same, subtle variations in colour and texture ensure that each piece is entirely unique.

Although the Sac et Sol exhibition has come to an end, the opportunity to own one of these artworks remains. Interested clients can book a personal appointment at the Mieke Dierckx flagship store in Westerlo to explore the available leather options and create a piece that feels truly personal. With only seven editions available, we recommend not waiting too long.

Creativity shaped by conscious choices

Sac et Sol also highlighted a different perspective on materials. Rather than letting beautiful leather remnants go unused, they were reimagined into something entirely new.

The collaboration celebrated the beauty of transformation. Existing materials were given another purpose, proving that limitations can often spark the most interesting ideas.

It reflects Mieke Dierckx's ongoing commitment to creating thoughtfully designed pieces that stand the test of time.

The celebration of art

While the Sac et Sol exhibition has officially closed its doors, it remains a beautiful example of what can happen when different creative disciplines come together. The collaboration between Mieke Dierckx and Emma Veulemans resulted in pieces that transcend functionality, inviting people to experience bags as works of art and art as something that can become part of everyday life.

A celebration of texture, expression and individuality, Sac et Sol leaves behind a collection that is as meaningful as it is exclusive.
