About Mieke Dierckx
Mieke started her own label in 2012 after graduating in interior- and jewelry design. She designed a handbag to match her jewelry graduation project and people were completely blown away by the laser and 3D techniques she used. She discovered her passion for designing, but had never touched a sewing machine in her life. Fortunately, her mom did, so she taught Mieke how to translate her drawings into a real handbag. And so her first collection, “Brick by Brick” was born, where she cut out small square shapes from the leather, so the colorful lining behind it became visible. She kept on experimenting with different techniques and designed the playful ‘Scales’ collection. To this day, the shape of the scale is a signature to almost every one of her designs. After her mom passed away, she was determined to push through on building her label and managed to find a production facility in Portugal that matches her values.
“It’s such a waste to save a beautifully designed handbag for special occasions. It should accompany you from one adventure to the next. We want to contribute to a slow fashion, which means we hold on to some values that we consider non negotiable and part of our DNA.“

Slow Fashion
Mieke hand picks high quality leather, so her bags can stand the test of time. Mieke likes to take things slow and designs at her own pace. She releases new designs or editions of her ‘classics’ when she feels it’s the right time for them to be sent out to the world, regardless of the fashion seasons or trends. We choose high quality leather, so our designs will last a lifetime and will travel with you from one adventure to the next.
Dedicated & local craftmanship
“It’s very important to keep our supply chain as short as possible to reduce carbon emissions and the impact on climate change. We partnered up with other local suppliers, close to the production facility, like a Portuguese leather supplier and an atelier to produce dust bags, to avoid unnecessary transportation and to simplify the supply chain process.”

LIMITED COLLECTIONS
We produce our collections in small batches to minimize overstock. Our leather supplier and production facility work closely together to calculate the exact amount we need for production to limit deadstock of the leather.
RE-INVENT WASTE
Leather is such a valuable resource, so we can not let it go to waste! We try to re-invent leather scraps from the pattern cutting process into keychains or coasters, to limit our waste as much as possible.
NO SALES
NO PLASTICS
